HOME OF THE FOUNDATION EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAM...

"WE PUT A FOUNDATION EDUCATION ON EVERY HORSE WE TRAIN!"

In developing a mental connection with your horse, we are waking up the horses mind and getting them thinking and learning with us.

"Jess"

Bay/Overo Mustang Mare - Nampa, Idaho

THIS MARE IS OUT OF THE "CHALLIS" HERD

Jess, checking things out...

taking a moment to slow down and relax...Jess likes to "get er done" and move on

load on the tire...

step up on the bridge...

other direction...         good girl

grooming...

unsure, but ok                                         definitely ok here                                 not too keen on it here

backing in hand...

Stirrup Slap...

asked to walk on...                                        then trot                         she crouds too close and needs to back off

change direction...she was a little unsure but got it

she's an attentive student...                              good girl

get off stirrup pressure...                                 and more...                                              good!

other way...

sending in the open                                                             direction change

some lose control here - she does good

and change direction...                      seeking Katie's approval

Good Girl!

out past the parked truck is ok

over the logs...                       she goes off course

try again...

she gets anxious for whats next...she's a go-getter!

she just jumps right up                                    and over                  she's going too fast and needs to slow down...

really?

ok!

and off

up she goes...                                        wait....and turn                                            good girl!

rewarding is one thing she really likes :-)

and off nicely...

asking her to look at the barrels, and try stepping over them...

she decides how to get over them...

very good!

one more time, and we're done with this task

today Jess is a pill about her hind feet...and needed a refresher

there, better...

asking for her face...

there, better...

always practice flexing both ways to keep them soft...

nice response...good girl

stand quietly....

she has a tendency to "root" at the bit some...

working on getting off leg pressure to improve turning

touching behind is ok, Jess stays relaxed

change of direction with better self control...Jess does like to rush things

good girl...

asking for flex, she sometimes will argue

asking for flex...                              not enough...                              too much...

she needs to learn where to put her head and not keep tug-a-war with your hands while riding

testing her, she has improved
(flexing is an exercise that always needs continued to keep your mount soft and responsive in your hands)

Jess sulls up briefly and doesn't want to enter the arena

but she has a great workout...                        direction change...

Jess was fine with the other horse riding around too...

Jess throws her head...

Jess decides to jump over the steel cylinder...
